I would say I have tried a good share of subscription beauty boxes, from Glymm to Luxe box and even Glossybox (which was my favorite until they raised their price!!).
This month I decided to order both Topbox and Ipsy, to finally decide once and for all which subscription service I would stick with.
Topbox in Canada is $12.00( plus shipping comes to around $13) per month
Ipsy is $10.00 per month ( plus shipping it comes to around $13 or $14) per month
First I'll show you what I got in both boxes and then I'll tell you what I think of both and which one I am going to stick with!
BH Cosmetics: California Collection Eye Shadow Palette
Coola: Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 20
Pop: Lip Crayon in "rose romance"
Healthy Sexy Hair: Soy Renewal Beach Spray with Argan Oil
Belvada Cosmetics: One Moment Essential Day Cream
MKS California: Add Volume Volumizing Spray ( weird thing about this...it looks like some product has already been used)
China Glaze: "keepin' it teal"
B.Kamins: BB Cream
- They're both pretty similar in price
- The packaging for Ipsy is a lot nicer ( and cuter!), it comes in a different cosmetic bag every month
- Topbox 's products came stuffed in a cylinder and wrapped in tissue paper
- Probably the only thing I didn't like about Ipsy was the it doesn't come with a card that explained what each product was and the price of it ( Topbox did come with this)
Overall: Ipsy is the winner! I can honestly say that I will use every single product that I received this month, and that's saying something because I have never said that about any subscription service. Ipsy also came with 1 more product than Topbox. With that said I did enjoy the Topbox this month and I'm super excited to try the bb cream but I just think you get more for your $$ with Ipsy!
What do you think? Which box would you of preferred?
I recently picked up these blushes on Hautelook (see Haul here), they were such a good deal I couldn’t pass them up($6 each!). I had
never heard about the After Glow blushes but I’m pretty sure they are an older
product that Urban Decay doesn’t make anymore, which is a shame because I
really love them!
The shades I got are “Quickie” and “Crush”
Quickie is a typical “Barbie pink” and Crush is
more a bright fuchsia.
What they say about it:
“This cheek tint can be applied on top of foundation or bare
skin without that powdery, cakey effect that can result from use of powder
blush. The formula is loaded with good-for-you ingredients like Vitamins E, C,
and A, so your skin gets nourishment and protection along with a dose of
What I think about
·Insanely pigmented- Possibly one of the most
pigmented products I have ever used. When I first tried this I used my fingers
and it applied WAY to much product so the next time I tried the blush I used mySigma F50 brushand barely had to tap it into the product and it applied so
·Easy to blend
·Gives you such a healthy glow look
·Even though it is not meant for the lips it
still acts as such a nice and long wearing lip stain
·Doesn’t leave a sticky residue like most cream
Overall: This is an amazing product and I’m really wishing I
picked up some more, hopefully they will come back on Hautelook soon. Like I
said I would really recommend applying this with a stippling brush and a very
light hand, it will go on flawlessly. As for the added vitamins that are supposed
to help your skin, I haven’t noticed any changed yet but make after using it
for a bit longer I will. Have you ever tried these blushes? What did you think? PS: Over the past month I've been making YouTube videos, check it out HERE. If you're on YouTube then leave your link below, I'd love to check it out!
