Makeup Starter Kit!

Hi everyone!
So I’ve been getting a few questions recently on what I would recommend in a “makeup starter kit”. This post is aimed towards all you girls who are just starting to get into the makeup world but don’t know where to start. Today I’m going to share with you what I think/ would want in a starter kit.
1. A cherry color cheek stain: This is a great multi use product, it can be used on both lips and cheeks. Stains are perfect for a nice natural look and they last all day! The one I love is “beauty queen” from The Balm Cosmetics, it’s one of the only stains I’ve tried that hasn’t dried out my lips and really lasts all day on my combo-oily skin.
2. A Neutral Palette: If you’re going to buy any eye shadow, a neutral palette is the way to go. This one from wet and wild(Walking on eggshells) is affordable and extremely pigmented.  It’s also really great if you’re a beginner because it shows you how to apply the shadow on the back of the palette. If you’re looking for a more “high end” choice than the Lorac Pro from Lorac Cosmetics or any of the “naked” palettes from Urban Decay are great options too.
3.Brow Product: Filling in your brows really does make a huge difference when doing your makeup, it really frames your face. I chose a powder product over a eye pencil simply because you can use this product as a eye shadow as well. This brow kit from Milani is amazing and comes with so much, 2 brow shades, a highlight, 2 brushes and a tiny tweezer.
4. Matte Bronzer: A bronzer is perfect for warming up your face and giving you a nice healthy glow or when you have a matte bronzer it is great for contouring and giving your face some dimension. The one I love from the drugstore is the NYC Sunny bronzer, if you’re looking for a more high end option the Benefit Hula bronzer is my all time favorite.
5. Cream shadow: This can be used as both a shadow base/primer and as a all over the lid color when you are in a hurry. Some of my all time favorites are the 24 hour Maybelline color tattoos, I love this one in “barely branded” . It’s a gorgeous champagne shade that is so versatile, these shadows last forever!
6. A Light pink blush: This shade of blush looks gorgeous on all skin tones, it’s so versatile. This one from ELF Cosmetics in “tickled pink” is gorgeous and very pigmented. If you’re looking for a more high end option, “down boy” from The Balm is great too!
7. A brightening concealer: The one I would recommend is the Maybelline dream lumi touch concealer. This is a great product and is reasonably priced. Having a brightening concealer in your make up bag is great for making your eyes look big and awake and really helps conceal under eye circles.
8. A nude or light pink gloss: One of my favorite lip colors to wear. These shades look gorgeous on any skin tone and goes well with all make up looks. One of my most used is “Sugar Pie” from NYX, it’s a great gloss and it isn’t sticky which is one of the main things I look for when choosing a lip gloss.
9. Setting Powder: My powder of choice is the Rimmel Stay Matte. It provides some light coverage, keeps your skin from getting shinny throughout the day, and sets your makeup.
10. Black Liner(not pictured): Great product that will really define your eyes. One of my favorites is the NYX slide on liner, its super creamy which really makes it easy to apply as well as smudge for a more “smoked out” look.
11.Black Mascara(not pictured):If you’re ever in a rush and don’t have time to apply much makeup, as long as you have some mascara you are good to go in my opinion. I’m not going to recommend a certain mascara because I find that everyone looks for something different in a mascara but some of my favorites are… Covergirl Lash Blast, L’Oreal shocking extensions (review here), and maybelline Big Eyes (review here).
12. Eyelash Curler(not pictured): This tool is a must have for me. I love to curl my lashes before I apply mascara (obviously) as well has lightly curl them after once my mascara has dried( I find that makes a huge difference on how long my lashes stay curled)

So that's it for my makeup starter kit! I hope you got some ideas for what you would like to include in your makeup kit.
