Simple Face of the Day!

Happy June Everyone!
Today I thought I would do a quick “Face of the Day” Post. I’m not doing anything special tonight just having a night in with some girlfriends, so my makeup is simple today.

Products used
1.       Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation in “Nude”: My go-to foundation, gives amazing coverage and lasts all day! I love using a damp beauty blender to sheer out this foundation for a more natural look.
2.       Covergirl Corrector(not shown in picture): Not sure how I feel about this product yet, it’s gotten so much hype in the beauty blogger world so I had to try it. If you want to see a more detailed review on this product let me know!
3.       MAC Pro longwear concealer in “NC20”: I cannot say enough good things about this concealer, it’s seriously amazing and totally worth the price tag. It lasts all day and is so pigmented so a little goes a long way trust me! I use this over any blemishes as well as under my eyes over top of the Covergirl corrector.
4.       Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in “Sandstorm”: I don’t think I’ll ever use another powder again. This is the perfect setting powder, doesn’t make you look cakey, and keeps you matte all day!
5.       Bare Minerals concealer in “well-rested”: I use the tiniest amount of this product under my eyes just to set my concealer and make it last all day- love this stuff!
6.       Benefit Hula Bronzer: I use this matte bronzer to just lightly contour my cheek bones and temples to warm up my face and add some color.
7.     Benefit Coralista blush: This blush has been a favourite of mine for years, it's the most gorgeous coral shade.
8.       MAC soft & Gentle Mineralized skin finish: Gorgeous Highlighter, especially in the summer with a nice tan!
9.       Brow Wiz in “medium ash”: a great brow product, especially when you’re pressed for time.
10. Maybelline Eyestudio Gel liner: This liner is amazing, it lasts all day and in super creamy!
11.   L’Oreal Shocking extensions mascara: My absolute favorite mascara, I have a full review on this product HERE
12.   NYX slide on liner in black: I used this just on the outer part of my lower water line.
13.  Rimmel Kate Lipstick in "111 Kiss of Life" & Annabelle lip liner in "205 Cherry"

And that’s it for my face of the day! If you’d like to see a full review on any of these products let me know in the comments below!

Hope you all enjoy your week!

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer Review

Hi Everyone!
Today I wanted to share with you a review on a concealer I've been loving the past few months and has quickly become popular in the blog and YouTube world!
NC20

What MAC says...
"A liger that provides medium to full coverage with a comfortable, natural matte finish. Colour-true formula lasts up to 15 hours. Helps conceal and correct the look of under-eye circles, and discolorations. Comes in a clear glass vial with a matte black pump."

When they say long wearing they're not lying! Even when my skin is having an oily day this concealer doesn't budge, it literally lasts all day!  Another amazing thing about this concealer is that it has such great coverage and is great for covering up acne and dark spots. It's extremely pigmented and a little goes a long way so I know this little bottle will last me a long time!

The texture is nice and creamy and blends out so well. Another great thing about this product is the packaging, its in a glass bottle that has a pump which is great so you're not getting any bacteria back in the bottle when using it.

Overall this is an amazing long wearing concealer with great coverage and I will definitely be repurchasing it again.

Have you ever tried this concealer? What did you think?

Happy New Year to you all!

Dupe Alert! MAC vs. Maybelline

I'm so beyond excited to tell you guys about this one. Ever since I saw that this product came out in the US I've been waiting for the day it came to Canada so I could get my hands on one.
Maybelline color tattoo in "barely beige" is a dupe for the ever so popular and one of my all time favourites MAC paint pot in "bare study"

I've used this paint pot from MAC for years, under my eyeshadow to make the colour pop and even just on it's own. It's such a beautiful champagne that looks great on every skin tone.

This color tattoo from Maybelline is basically the same shade, it's crazy. The Maybelline one actually lasts longer than the MAC paint pot which is an added plus! I've also find that the Maybelline color tattoo has much better color pay off, and for half the price you can't go wrong!

Have you tried any of the Maybelline Color Tattoos? What did you think?
PS: Check out my MAC & Ad space giveaway going on right now!

Review: MAC "Warm Soul" Blush

Happy Monday Guys!!
Hope you all had an awesome weekend. I just started classes last week so my weekend was full of trying to wrap my head around how many assignments I have to do within the first week!

Today I wanted to share with you guys a new blush I picked up at MAC about a week ago. I had a wedding to go to last Saturday and the dress I was wearing was red so I wanted to find a blush that went well with it... plus it was just a good excuse to go shopping at MAC! The blush I picked up was one of their mineralize blushes called "Warm Soul". MAC describes it as a "Mid tone beige with gold pearl". When the girl at the MAC counter first showed me this I didn't think much of it because it just looked skin toned and nothing special. Once I tried it I fell in love! It gives the most beautiful sun-kissed glow to your skin with it's peach-bronze kind of colour. This is also a very build able colour so if you have a lighter skin tone don't be afraid of the shade when you first see it, I've tried this on very pale skin to tanned skin and it looks beautiful on all! It does have a tiny bit of shimmer in it but don't let that scare you if you're someone who doesn't like a shimmery blush because this doesn't shimmer it is more of a light glow. This is one of those blushes that anyone could wear and it would look so gorgeous! This is definitely becoming one of my most loved blushes and even overall makeup products, it's really that amazing!

What do you think? Would you wear this blush?

Top 5: Lip Products!

Hi guys!
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Mine was far from fantastic because I still can't seem to get rid of this cold. But I still had some time to go out with the girls on Friday night and have a date night with Pat on Saturday. We saw the new Will Farrell movie "The Campaign"  I've always been a huge fan of his movies, Stepbrothers is one of my all time favourites and I could probably quote the entire movie so I was really hoping this movie would be just as funny. Let me say that if you enjoyed Stepbrothers, Anchorman and all of those types of movies then you'll LOVE The Campaign. Hilarious.

*Skip to hear if you don't want to hear me ramble on about my weekend and just want the review :)*

Over the next few weeks I'm going to be doing a "Top 5 Series". It's going to feature posts on some of my favorite lip products, nail, eyeshadow, blushes and more! Hope you guys enjoy it! First up we have lip products...

Revlon Lip Butter in "Peach Parfait"
I love all of the lip butters from Revlon but this one is probably my favorite. It's been my go-to lip color all summer. It's the perfect coral-pinky shade and makes your lips feel so moisturized and smooth.

MAC "Plink"
You're probably thinking "Is she seriously talking about plink again!"... but it really is just one of my favorites. It's one of those shades that you can just quickly put on and not have to worry about. It's also one of their Lustre's which means it will glide onto your lips so smoothly and it almost looks like you have a gloss on over top. A close dupe for this shade is Revlon's "Pedal"
Revlon Lip Butter in "Strawberry Shortcake"
When I first bought this lip butter I used it once and didn't pick it up for a while after that. I just didn't think I could pull off the bright baby pink look. But I've learned to completely love this lip butter, like the peach parfait it goes on so smoothly and moisturizing. I also find that this particular lip butter lasts longer than the other ones I've tried.
Revlon Kissable Lip Stain in "Romantic"
I'm starting to realize that Revlon might just be my favourite brand when it comes to lip products...I was  a little beyond excited to get my hands on a few of these lip stains and they did not disappoint. This one in romantic is the perfect red for someone who is a little uneasy with a solid red lip(like me). It has a slight sheen to it and a bit of a glossy...these lip stains are great!
MAC "Lovelorn"
This shade looks similar to the Strawberry Shortcake lip butter but this one by MAC is a bit more on the true pink side. This is a great shade for summer and it's also a Lustre(my favourite MAC finish) so it's very moisturizing.

Come back later this week for a look at my top 4 favourite eyeshadows!

Favorite Concealers!

These are four of my all time favourite concealers! They're all really great and I would definitely recommend them! What are some of your favourite concealers? I love trying new ones!
Hard Candy: Glam of lauge- This stuff is really great. If you're looking for a high coverage concealer that isn't expensive, I would definitely recommend this! I've tried a lot of drugstore concealers and have found this to be the best. It's long lasting and moisturizing, I just wish it came in more shade selections!

MAC: Studio Finish- Probably my number one all-time favorite concealer! I've been using this for years and years. It comes in this tiny pot but it literally lasts FOREVER! It's a very thick and creamy consistency that will seriously cover up everything. Apply it with your fingers so the product heats up and goes on smoothly.  It's also water resistant!
Benefit: Erase Paste- This concealer is especially good if you are someone with bad dark circles. I find it has a bit of a salmon tint which is perfect for concealing dark circles. It's really great and very long wearing, on top of that you get a good amount of product so this will last you a very long time! I've had mine for about a year and a half and I have about a 1/4 left!

Age Rewind Eraser- One of my favorite YouTube beauty gurus Tiffanyd swears by this stuff so I had to try it. I have pretty bad dark circles so I'm always looking for something to cover them up and the fact that this is a drugstore product is a plus! This is my third time purchasing this because I really do love it! The applicator is a tiny sponge that the product comes out of which makes it really nice to apply and it covers up my dark circles so well, I wouldn't suggest applying this anywhere else but under your eyes though.

Have you guys tried any of these? What did you think?

What's in my makeup bag♥

Hi everyone!
I love looking at "what's in my bag" and " what's in my makeup bag" post so I thought I would do one in case anyone loves looking at them as much as I do!

My makeup bag: Kenneth Cole from Winners

Maybelline Baby Lips: Always always always have a good lip balm in my bag. The baby lips ones are amazing and some of them even have a tint to them!
Mac lip luster in Plink!: Great color that will go with everything. The luster formula from mac is my favorite, it makes it look like you almost have a gloss over top.
Smashbox Lip gloss: I'm just trying this one out right now so I don't have to much to say about it yet but the smashbox lip glosses never disappoint!
Benefit Posietint: This is a great thing to have it you ever want to have a blush in your bag but you don't want to pack a brush as well. This is super easy to apply and lasts all day!
DYNK roller ball perfume: This is really handy to have in your purse as a rollerball is always easy to apply on the go
Mascara: I have way to many mascara samplers so I've been using them in my make up bag because they are really small and don't take up much room. Also it's been a great way to try them all out and see which ones I like
Maybelline Dream Matte powder: A pressed powder is always great to have if you're going to be out all day and need a quick touch up. This one from maybelline is great for people with oily skin.

Tarte eyelash curler: This is great to have in you bag as a quick fix. If you're nervous about putting on a second layer of mascara because you think it will get clumpy then just hold the eyelash curler on your eyelashes for a second and you'll be good!
Bobby pins & hair bands: for obvious reasons!
Blotting papers: These are a must have for me in the summer! I have oily skin and that does not mix well with the heat!
Blending brush: I love having a blending brush in my bag because if I'm ever feeling like my eyeshadow is creasing or just not looking to great I'll just blend it in a little bit and it will be as good as new!
Tweezers: Always handy to have in you bag

Contact solution and contact case: I have this in my bag just in case. I can still see fairly well without my contacts so if they're every bugging me one day I know I can always take them off.
Deodorant: You never know when you'll need this!
Mouthwash: This travel size bottle always comes in handy! I just keep refilling it with my bigger bottle I have at home.

Anyway, hope you all enjoyed this post! What are some of your must haves in your makeup bags??

Huge beauty haul!

So this is a haul of somethings I've picked up over the past week or so

 Benefit Watt's Up
Before a few months ago I never was one to wear a highlighter… and then around Christmas time I received the Nars albatross and I really like it! It’s more of a glittery , chunky texture so I wouldn’t really recommend it for everyday use but it is great! The benefit highlighter is perfect for the summer with a glowy champagne color, it's definitely one of my new favorites!

 Makeup Forever’s HD Microfinish Powder
This is a repurchase… and I will continue to buy it again and again. I have fairly oily skin and after working an 9 hr shift my makeup definitely doesn’t look the same as it did at 6am. This stuff is AMAZING… I can’t say enough good things about it…. My makeup lasts all day … it gives my face a nice matte finish. I just apply it after my foundation and blush and I apply it just in my T-zone, you barely need any so it is definitely worth the $35.00

Rose Jam bubble bar-Lush
I thought this one was so cute because it looks like a macaroon… I’m awful at describing smells but it has a fruity rose smell to it… and I'm really excited to try this out and see what all the bubble bar fuss is about.

Lush lip scrub in  Mint Juleps
I LOVE this product… It makes my lips feel so smooth and if I put lip stick on after it, it goes on so perfectly .

Revlon 3D mascara
LOVE this mascara, this is probably the 4th one I’ve purchased. It reminds me a lot of Benefits "They're real" mascara except half the cost!I talk more about it in my “may favorites” post down below.

Maybelline baby lips in pink punch

I have a few of these and I love them! Super moisturizing and makes your lips feel really soft for a long time. Maybelline claims “8h moisture” but I don’t know if I would agree with them but it definitely moisturizes your lips. It also has a really nice pink tint to it which is always a plus!

BH cosmetics blush palette

I’ve never ordered from BH cosmetics before so I was really excited to see what all the hype was about. At first glance this palette looks really nice and a great value considering I got it for $11 (there was a sale on that day). I haven’t used this product enough to really decide if I like it or not. I’ve tried a few of the colors and liked them but I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite. I found some of the lighter colors weren’t very pigmented but we will see if after more use I will have changed my mind. Has anyone else tried BH cosmetics?

BH cosmetics neutral palette

This palette is great! Especially for someone who is just starting out and wants a good bang for your buck! BH cosmetics is always having great sales so I got this palette for I think $12. Which is amazing considering all the different colors of eye shadow you get. You can do so many looks with this palette and the quality of the eye shadows is amazing. I would definitely recommend this.

Anyway, that's it for my haul...If anyone wants me to do a review on any of these products let me know!
