Blog Swap with Beauty by Arielle!

Hello Beauty by T readers! I am very excited to do a blog swap today with Tawny. She is a fantastic beauty blogger and I am honored to share my post with her readers.

First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Arielle and my blog is Beauty by ArielleI was born and raised in a northern Illinois city of 400,000 only to pull up my roots and plant myself in a town of 4,000 to be with my husband. We eloped this past year in Paris, France.

As a preteen, I poured myself into magazines like CosmoGirl and Seventeen pining over beauty products and soaking in tips. I believe I am and always will be a product junky! My blog focuses on beauty products with DIYs, reviews and tutorials.

Today's post is all about my Pursuit for the Nude Nail.

I love neutrals. When it comes to my makeup, my style and my nails I continually choose neutral palettes. Over the years I have been searching for the perfect nude nail color-one that combines light color with opacity. Today I chose four colors to share with you. Two to steer clear of and two perfect formulations:

WORST:

$3.99//drugstores

I would describe Revlon Sheer Pink as milky. The color is translucent and streaky, two components I avoid in a polish. In the photo, you can still see the whites of my nails, even after 3 coats. On my ring finger you can see how streaky this formula is.

I love the shade of Julep's Kelly. It is a beautiful blush color. Unfortunately, I find this formulation to be messy and streaky. Reaching opacity is nearly impossible. Plus, it only lasts 24 hours, at most, before chipping. You can see my full review of Julep polishes here.

BEST:

$8.50//drugstores

OPI's Samoan Sand is a beautiful taupe with sepia undertones. It combines color and opacity for a lovely nude nail. Pair it with OPI's Black Shatter for an intense look (see it here).

Essie's Sand Tropez is my favorite shade, nude or not, of all time. I was sent this polish by my blog friend, Drinkcitra (I think she knew how much I would love this color). It applies opaque and appears as a light beige. Plus, it lats days without chipping. I love to add a little glitter to pump up the look.

Let me know your thoughts on any of these shades. I would also love to hear about your favorite nude nail colors!

Thank you, Tawny, for blog swapping with me today. Don't forget to stop by my blog to check out her post! You can follow me on google friend connecttwitter or facebook.
